Welcome to the Escondido Humane Society's Adoption Center
Our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, temperment tested, and checked for overall health by a veterinarian. With your adoption, you also receive a free bag of food, informational packet, lifetime behavioral support, a coupon for a veterinary check at one
of our local partners...and a lifelong friend.
In addition to our on-site center at 3450 East Valley Parkway, the Escondido Humane Society's Adoption Center places adoptable cats at Kahoots and PETCO Escondido, and adoptable rabbits at PETCO, Escondido, Poway, and Carmel Mountain. Please give us a call for more information.

Dr. Dog's Pet of the Week - Meet Brownie
Brownie, a 2 year old neutered male Mastiff mix, is just as sweet as his name! A Humane Officer picked up Brownie, injured and without an owner, from Pala in January. He has since received plenty of TLC and veterinary care at our shelter and has made a full recovery. He's now looking for a great home to call his own!

Brownie loves the outdoors, but would prefer to sit by your side than go for a walk (when our volunteers walk him, he plops down on the grass, stretches and rolls, and wags his tail). He loves his people, and he's great with other dogs - but he might just chase cats. As a Mastiff, he would be better in a home with older children; he may accidentally knock over a smaller child with an unsuspecting tail wag.

We have started Brownie in obedience training, and he is doing great so far. He still has a lot to learn, though, so we hope that his new owner will continue his training. In return, they'll have a devoted, goofy, sweet and handsome dog to call their own!
