Escondido Humane Society - 3450 East Valley Parkway, Escondido, CA 92027 - (760) 888-2275
Paws in the Park is a community event to raise funding and awareness for the plight of animals in need, and to celebrate the special bond between people and their pets. The event begins on the west side of Kit Carson Park, directly across from Westfield Shoppingtown in Escondido. Over 1,200 adults and children bring their dogs for a 1.5 to 2.5 mile stroll to benefit animals and people in need. Walk registrants receive prizes, which vary depending on the amount of pledges raised. After the walk, please stay for a fun-filled morning with entertainment, vendor booths, Canine Couture fashion show, refreshments, and games for you and your canine companions!
GUIDELINES FOR YOUR DOGS
In order for all participants to have an enjoyable, rewarding experience at Paws in the Park, please abide by the following event guidelines. These rules are especially important because Paws in the Park is granted by special permit, and not following the guidelines completely may jeopardize our ability to hold the event next year. Thank you for understanding...and don't worry, a fun morning for you and your dog is required!
To help ensure safety and abide by our permit agreement, dogs are the only type of animal friends allowed to come to the event. What self-respecting kitty wants to be seen in public with a bunch of dogs, anyway? Walk in their honor, bring home special complimentary kitty treats, and feel good knowing that Paws in the Park helps all animals in need, including our feline friends!
- BE LEASHED AT ALL TIMES and kept under control
- have current vaccinations, including rabies
- be sociable with other dogs and people
- come prepared to clean up after your dog
- keep female dogs in heat at home
- bring your pet only if it enjoys being around other pets and people
Water for dogs will be served community style. A special park permit allows dogs at the park during the event only. All dogs must leave the park at the conclusion of the event at 12pm.
