Director of Public Relations

 The Escondido Humane Society is looking for a Director of Public Relations to support the organization's mission and program.  The Director of Public Relations is responsible for coordinating media relations, print production including quarterly newsletter and other institutional pieces and working with the development department to plan special events.  The Director reports to the Vice President of Development and works closely with the Humane Society's Communications Committee.

Qualifications:  Proficient writing and editing skills, ability to cultivate relationships with local, regional and national media, experience working with graphic designers and printers and web site management knowledge.  Candidate must be well organized, be able to handle multiple projects and willing to work occasional weekends, early mornings and evenings.  A college degree is preferred in journalism or related field, as well as media experience.
