Adoption Process:
Before interacting with our cats, we ask you to complete a pre-adoption questionnaire. By completing the questionnaire first, it minimizes the stress on our cats. Our adoption process includes verifying identity, age, address, veterinarian references, and landlords approval. This is simply to protect the health and well being of our animals.

Once the questionnaire is completed and an adoption counselor has reviewed it to determine eligibility, you may visit with the cat you are interested in. You will have a counseling session with a member of our staff who will explain the history and needs of each cat. At this time you may ask questions regarding health issues, behavioral issues, house breaking, basic care and exercise requirements.

Decision Process:
Now is the time for two decisions… yours and ours. First you must decide if the cat you have interacted with is the right cat for you. Remember that many of these cats are with us because their previous owner did not make the life long commitment that we are asking you to make. It is very stressful for the animals when an adoption does not work out and they are returned to us. Keep in mind, it may take up to a month for you and your new cat to adjust to each other. Sometimes a cat’s personality or temperament may change once you take it home. If this occurs, we ask you to work with us to correct it. If we both agree that the conflict cannot be resolved, you may return the cat to us.

Adoption Fee:
You will be asked to sign an adoption contract and pay a non-refundable adoption fee. The fee is $85 for cats age seven and younger and $50 for cats age seven and older. This fee covers: spay or neuter, veterinary care, de-worming, vaccination, and the board and care your new cat has received while at our facility.
