ESCONDIDO HUMANE
SOCIETY’S VOLUNTEER TO BE HONORED BY NORTH COUNTY PHILANTHROPY COUNCIL
ESCONDIDO, CA—October 1, 2002— The North County Philanthropy Council will honor
Escondido attorney Deborah Graves as Escondido Humane Society’s Volunteer of
the Year at the council’s 15th Annual Volunteer Awards Luncheon
October 18. The luncheon, held at the
Four Seasons Aviara in Carlsbad, will feature 37 honorees who have been selected
by NCPC member organizations.
Asked about her experience on the EHS board Deborah
says, “Having seen the society through times of crisis makes it all the more
rewarding to see the positive direction they’re moving in now. Construction on the new shelter is underway,
and plans for a future four building campus are in the works.”
Deborah was chosen as EHS’s honoree for her
dedication to the society where, for the past six years, she has offered her
expertise in employment law. Deborah first
became acquainted with the Escondido Humane Society in 1993 when Laturno,
Graves and Gillaspey was retained to represent the humane society. In 1997, she was recruited to join the EHS
board of directors. Through the years,
Deborah has held posts as vice president, then president and most recently secretary
of the board.
