ESCONDIDO HUMANE SOCIETY TRADES

IN REAL LIFE FELINES FOR THE MYTHICAL SORT

ESCONDIDO, CA—September 9, 2002—Escape to a make-believe world where cats wear hats and lions take advice from wise old baboons.  Friends of the Escondido Humane Society are invited on two theater excursions, the Lion King and Seussical the Musical, each to benefit the humane society’s cat adoption and humane education programs.

On October 12, journey to the savannah to watch the award winning musical The Lion King onstage at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles.  Patrons receive deluxe bus transportation, a gourmet box lunch and a preferred seating for the 2 p.m. matinee.  The bus will depart from Escondido.  During the bus ride up, an EHS speaker will give a talk on cat health and behavior.  The package cost, including a tax deductible contribution, is $120.

On October 29, revisit Dr. Seuss’ madcap characters in Seussical the Musical at the San Diego Civic Theatre.  Each guest will enjoy a discounted price of just $48 per ticket for reserved seating in the theatre’s preferred seating locations.  Guests can opt to join the star of the show, Cathy Rigby, and her fellow cast mates at a private cast party after the show at the nearby Westgate Hotel.  Tickets to the cast party are $25.

Tickets for both shows can be purchased online or by mail.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Escondido Humane Society.  To purchase online, visit the EHS web site at www.escondidohumanesociety.org.  To pay by check, make payable to the Escondido Humane Society and send to: EHS Development Department P.O. Box 460249, Escondido, CA 92046.  For more information about the theatre trips, call (760) 740-0366.
