The Animal Control Center at the Escondido Humane Society collects pre-determined fees at the below rates on behalf of the cities of Escondido, San Marcos, and Poway. Please note that the Escondido Humane Society does not set the fee structure. Fees are reimbursed to the appropriate city. The organization makes no profit from your fees.
Dog License Fees:
- 1 year Altered Pet: $14
- 1 year Unaltered Pet: $30
- 3 year Altered Pet: $36
- 3 year Unaltered Pet: $72
- Transfer / Replacement Tag: $5
- Late Fee: $10
Rabies Vaccination: $6
Owner Surrender: (Dog or Cat) $50 **
**Due to space restrictions, we do not accept owner-surrendered animals on a walk-in basis. Please call us during regular operating hours, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., to check our current status.
Humane Euthanasia for Terminally Ill Dogs or Cats*: $50
* Humane Euthanasia is offered to terminally ill animals, regardless of the cities in which they reside. Please call for details.
Impound Fees (There will be a $10 flat fee for vaccines and deworming):
Dog *
- 1st impound: $40 + $10 per day
- 2nd impound: $55 + $10 per day
- 3rd impound: $75 + $10 per day
Cat *
- 1st impound: $20 + $10 per day
- 2nd impound: $35 + $10 per day
- 3rd impound: $55 + $10 per day
*Additional charges may apply, including, but not limited to, charges for necessary medical treatment.
In Shelter Quarantine: $100
At Home Quarantine: $20
Home Again Microchip: $35 (includes registration). Our adoptable animals’ adoption fees include microchipping.
