I lived in La Mesa from 1969 thru 1981 and I cannot believe what I have been seeing on the news. I am truly relieved to see that you guys are all safe and the animals are in good hands. Thanks for all that you do. How scarey it must have been, looks like it was fairly close to your facility.

Three years, or so, ago my parents and I took a trip to PETCO in Escondido intending to buy a bag of rabbit food. Little did we know they were holding pet adoptions for animals rescued from the humane society fire. When I entered the store a beautiful reddish-brown dog named Wanda (aka Blaze) came up to greet me and it was love at first sight. She is my best friend and one of my greatest blessings. I wanted to thank EHS for all the time and effort they put in to the many lost and lonely animals who need a safe haven. If it wasn't for you Blaze and I would have never met.

I am happy to see the new building is up and open. I adopted my bunny Phoenix from you thru San Diego HRS. He was one of the seven rabbits who survived that awful fire almost three years ago. He is a happy and healthy (and very spoiled bun) and is much loved :)

I adopted the best poodle ever from the Escondido Humane Society back in 1986 and she was the most sweetest, loving dog, she was my baby. The Escondido Humane Society gave my girl a second chance at life and she lived a very good life. Anyone who adopts are very lucky and so are the animals.

In early September I adopted a small dog, l0 pounds, a terrier mix, multi-colored and cute as can be, love at first sight, from a shelter near Hemet. The dog died 26 days later from distempter. We would like to have a dog and adopt from a shelter but you don't know what they have been exposed to before coming to the shelter or infected while at the shelter. Should we try again?; life never offers guarantees does it?

My brother, who lives in Escondido, told me about your great new facility. It sounds terrific, the next time I'm out to visit him, I'm coming by. Congrats and keep up the good work.

When you list a dog, it really helps when you have its picture there. It makes the adoption process so much easier. Thanks.

The opening was fantastic and moving. It was the first time we'd been back with our fire dog, Roxann, since the ground breaking ceremony. It really brought home how amazing the dogs' and other animals' recoveries were. Many many thanks to Acacia Animal Hospital, the firemen, the Gellersteins, and Phil (and his crew) for the miracles, hope and inspiration they provided and are continuing to provide.

I'm really looking forward to the grand opening this weekend. I adopted TJ from you guys back in July, and it was one of the best things I ever did. He is such a love. We both are looking forward to coming back and seeing the finished product. Thanks so much for making a great connection for us. I hope that you make many more...
