Community Outreach intern
The Escondido Humane Society has one internship opportunity for an individual to contribute to marketing, community outreach and promotion functions.
Responsibilities will include: Setting up and breaking down equipment and materials at off-site events. Transporting animals to adoption events. Speaking with the public about EHS programs and animal welfare issues during one-on-one interactions. Working with volunteers to accomplish goals while at events. Depending on interest and skills, additional duties may include developing copy and design for promotional collateral for distribution at events, transporting dogs for television segments, contributing ideas to marketing and public relations promotion development, and soliciting corporate donations and sponsorships for EHS events.
Positions requirements include: 3.2 or greater cumulative GPA. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate with a diverse population in a consistently informative, respectful and professional manner. Able to maintain a professional appearance and exercise sound judgment during all interactions with the public, staff and volunteers. Basic working knowledge of computer hardware and Microsoft software programs. Able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as requested. Maintain a valid California Driver's License and provide proof of insurance. This position is unpaid and will require 20-30 hours per week, for approximately 3 months. Academic credit may be available, depending on the specific policies of your academic institution.

Video Production intern
The Escondido Humane Society is looking for an intern looking to put their skills, talents and passion for animals and technology together in one big package! You may find yourself writing, filming, editing, creating marketing campaigns and attending awesome events.
Responsibilities: Produce and edit films of animals at our shelter for the Escondido Humane website for potential adopters to see more about them. Create content about events that Escondido Humane Society hosts for our website. Coordinate compression of finished projects and transfer to online. Assist with troubleshooting, promotion and growth of the Escondido Humane Society website.
Qualifications and requirements: Intern must provide his or her own equipment and video editing software. Production - Experience producing and shooting quality video content. Work experience in an office environment. Post-production - Experience editing quality video content. Solid knowledge of editorial process. Strong ability to multitask and handle details. Work experience in documentary, reality or news experience a plus. A commitment to animals and a passion to give back to your community.
Hours are flexible, depending on the day or event.
