Million Dollar Match Challenge Frequently Asked Questions
It is our goal to raise the full $1 million by July 2011.
When is the deadline to raise funds?
No. Only gifts designated specifically to the Million Dollar Match within the timeframe will be doubled. All gifts designated to the match will support building loan repayment and growth. Other gifts are used as the donor restricts or for daily operational needs, such as animal care, medical care, food, utilities, special need surgeries, etc. Clearly, we need to be supremely successful on both fronts � the match will help us finally own our building, and unrestricted gifts will help us �keep the doors open and the lights on� and care for animals.
Are all gifts to the Escondido Humane Society matched?

To donate, just note �Million Dollar Match� on the memo of your check or designate the gift online toward the match and your gift will be doubled! Remember, the match is of critical importance to the shelter, but so is our daily operational funding to keep the doors open, to care for our many animals, and to continue our lifesaving programs. We will need your help in getting the word out for these needs, too.
Yes, we are asking for a lot � this is an unprecedented opportunity and we are thrilled to finally have a chance to own a permanent home for the Escondido Humane Society! It�s an exciting time to be involved � we have the chance to leave a wonderful legacy of our involvement in animal welfare. The Million Dollar Match is a special gift and a limited opportunity to ensure that we can remain here for years to come. As volunteers, staff and/or donors, you already know that we have so many animals here in need of our help. We ask for a lot because they need a lot � and we all know that they deserve every last bit of good that we can do for them. And, yes, with your help, we will be successful! The hardest part is done�we have an amazing, generous offer on the table. Let�s not leave one dollar on it!
