EHS Provides Animal Control Services for Escondido and San Marcos.

These services include dog licensing, housing stray animals and reuniting lost animals with their owners. All other animal control inquiries should go the County of San Diego Department of Animal Services at (619) 236-4250.

You can download a Dog License Application here to mail in to EHS if you live in the cities of San Marcos or Escondido.

To reach the animal control department, please call EHS at (760) 888-BARK (2278). If you are looking for a lost dog, please come to the facility as you are the only one who can identify your dog.

Foster Dogs Need Homes

Hello, my name is Ben.

I am a 1 year old, neutered male, Great Dane/Labrador mix. I enjoy a lot of different activities. My favorite is swiming. I love to play in the water!! Another favorite past-time of mine is to jump. Some people at the shelter compare me to Tigger. I am very bouncy. I had a loving foster home come and pick me up. They are taking care of me until I can find a permanent home. I hope that I find one soon!

Escondido Humane Society Closes to Public on Mondays

Due to a dramatic increase in operational costs such as workers comp, power, and fuel, the Escondido Humane Society (EHS) announced today it will be closing for adoption and on-site animal control services on Mondays starting July 5, 2004. The closure will reduce expenses yet uphold high-quality service to the community.
