SAN DIEGO COUNTY BUSINESS COMMUNITY SUPPORTS ESCONDIDO HUMANE SOCIETY

Many media and business organizations have volunteered to sponsor fundraising events to benefit the Escondido Humane Society.  Following are just several that we are aware of to date:

• PETCO: The PETCO Foundation, a non-profit charity established by San Diego-based PETCO Animal Supplies Inc., has joined the effort to help raise money and find homes for the surviving animals. 

The Foundation's effort will include a "Round UP" fundraising campaign where PETCO customers will be given an opportunity to "Round UP" their purchase to the next one, five, 10 or whatever dollar amount they would like to contribute.  The more than 20 San Diego PETCO stores will be involved in the campaign, which will begin this week.  Details will be available at the stores.

In addition, the humane society will be conducting mobile adoptions at a number of North County PETCO stores as early as this Saturday and the following Saturday and Sunday.  Participating stores will include Escondido, Carmel Mountain, Poway and Encinitas.  Specific details will be announced as soon as possible. • KSPA-AM 1450 Radio –Thursday, January 25, from 6 AM through noon, will conduct a donation drop off and donor reward.  Provide a monetary donation to Escondido Humane Society and receive a gift certificate to Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza, coffee, refreshments and other goodies.  Drop off in front of Petco Shopping Center-Escondido, 1050 W. Valley Parkway, just off Interstate 15.  

• 2^nd Annual Escondido Humane Society Animal Walk, March 25, 2001.  Mark your calendar to bring a pet and a friend to participate in this fun walk to take place in Kit Carson Park, Escondido.  We’ll shortly announce more information on where to pick up your pledge forms.  Check www.escondidohumanesociety.com for details.
