Volunteer Requirements

Please note: There are no volunteer orientations scheduled at this time.
Please check back here for updates.

The first step to volunteering is to fill out a volunteer profile (link below) and fax it to (760) 888-2222. Our Volunteer Department will contact you after reviewing your profile. The next step is to attend an orientation. All prospective volunteers must contact our Volunteer Department at (760) 888-2270 or [email protected] 10 days prior to orientation to sign up. At the orientation, you will receive a brief history of the shelter, learn about volunteering policies and procedures, hear about the many ways you can volunteer, and take a tour of our shelter.

Volunteer orientations are held at 8 a.m. on the first Saturday of every month at our Adoption Center. You must attend orientation prior to volunteering. Further training is available for those who are interested in specialized volunteer activities.

If you have a group on 12 or more, we can schedule a private orientation at your place of business or school. Call (760) 888-2270 to learn more about group trainings.
