At the Escondido Humane Society we are continually searching for ways to assure that as many pets as possible find permanent homes.

We currently have the following three options available:

1. Traditional Adoptions
2. Foster Care Adoptions
3. Stay At Home Adoptions

Traditional Adoptions: Traditionally adoptable animals that are relinquished to a humane society stay in the adoption kennels until the right match is found and they go home to a new family.

Foster Care Adoptions: In addition to the traditional placement of adoptable animals in the shelter kennels, we now have an adoptable foster pet program where animals that find the adoption kennel environment too stressful. These animals are available for adoption, but an appointment must be made to interact with these pets.

Stay At Home Adoptions: Our newest program is our Stay At Home adoption program. The intent of this program is to allow pet owners who have to find a new home for their pet to have access to the many potential pet owners who search our website and visit our facility.

The pet owner will keep their pet at home, we will post a picture and information about the pet on our web site and in our adoption area for potential new owners to view.

The potential pet owner may choose a pet from our adoption kennels, our adoptable foster animals or the pet that is staying at home until the right match is found.
