Since EHS opened its new animal care center in September 2003 we have sheltered, fed and cared for more than 2,500 dogs, cats and other animals. By collecting pledges for Doggie Dash 2004 you will help EHS to provide the following services to the animals and people of North San Diego County :
Shelter, feed and care for more than 5,000 lost, neglected and abandoned animals in the coming year.
Offer humane education programs to teach compassion, respect and caring treatment for all living creatures.
Provide Microchip Identification for all adopted animals to ensure lost pets find their way home.
Spay and neuter adopted animals to help reduce North San Diego County's pet overpopulation.
Provide Medical exams to all incoming animals to ensure they get the medical treatment they need.
Vaccinate adopted animals to give them a healthy start.
Assist foster care homes in feeding and caring for puppies and kittens who are too young to be adopted.
Educate and assist pet owners with rabies and licensing clinics.

This looped course combines an assortment of running surfaces including roads, walkways, bike paths, wood bridges and dirt trails. There is an elevation change of approximately fifty feet. The first mile is flat with a slight downhill slope. The second mile has the major elevation change. The final mile directs the runners past the Kit Carson duck pond.
This course is for runners ONLY. No pets or strollers allowed. All participants should be able to run/jog/racewalk at least 15 minute miles. This event is competitive. There will be division winners and awards for the top three division finishers.
This course is for runners/walkers with their dogs and noncompetitive walkers. If you are walking the 5K, start with this group. PLEASE allow the owners with their dogs the courtesy to start at the front. There will be division winners and awards for the three dog/owner categories.
This course is designed for those who just want a casual walk with their family, friends and family pet.This is noncompetitive with no awards.
