-Join our loving network of foster families. We provide the training, veterinary care, behavioral support, and supplies - you provide the safe, loving home. Fostering can last for only a few weeks or as long as a few months, depending upon your schedule. This ongoing need at the Escondido Humane Society is an especially great way to help animals displaced by the fire whose owners are unable to reclaim them, as well as those animals who are adoptable but cannot yet find homes because our adoption base has dwindled due to the fire. Please contact Robbie Benson at foster@escondidohumanesociety.org. She will answer any questions you may have and get you started on the training process.
- We have ongoing needs for canned cat food, canned dog food, rubber Kong toys to aid in stress reduction, towels, and paper towels. Due to the high number of animals in our care, and the number of residents in our area who have lost their homes and need pet supplies to get them through, our supplies are drained quickly. If you would like to make an in-kind donation for the animals, all pet supplies are still gratefully accepted.

Help the smallest victims of the recent wildfires - the animals. Support the Fire Fund at the Escondido Humane Soicety with a tax-deductible gift, and help the animals most in need. Your gift will care for the animal fire victims at our no-kill shelter and will support the veterinary care, rehabilitation, sheltering, and re-homing efforts for companion animals affected by the wildfires.
We are also in need of foster homes and supplies...see below for ways that you can help create a brighter future for animals in need during this especially challenging time.
The Adoption Center at the Escondido Humane Society was closed and converted to an emergency center for animals abandoned or displaced by the fires.
These puppies were surrendered to our care by a family who lost everything in the fire.
